Edit tree grid

Overview

The Next Design tree grid allows you to view a large number of models vertically in a tree view, while at the same time horizontally display a column of design items for each model. Therefore, it is suitable for viewing and editing specific design items side by side while overlooking the hierarchical structure of a large model.

The following describes editing operations in the tree grid in the following order.

  • Add model
  • Move model
  • Fold the tree

Note

  • You can temporarily change the display columns of the grid, but the state is not saved.
  • The initial display column of the grid can be customized in the profile.

Add a model

To add a model as a row in the tree grid:

Operating procedure

  1. Click to select the parent model row in the tree grid.
  2. Open the leftmost pull-down list from the toolbar above the tree grid and select the entity to add.
  3. Type the name of the model you want to add in the text box to the right and press Enter to add the new model to the end of the selected model's children.

Move the model

To move a model displayed as a row in the tree grid to change its hierarchy or change its order, follow these steps:

  1. To move a model to another parent and change the hierarchy, drag the model you want to move and drop it on the new parent model.
  2. To change the order between sibling models, select the models you want to move and then do one of the following.
    • Drag and drop between the destination sibling models.
    • Press the Alt+Up Down key.
    • Click the [Sequence Up], [Order Down] buttons on the toolbar at the top of the tree grid.
  3. To move a model up or down the hierarchy level, select the model you want to move and then do one of the following.
    • Press the Alt+Left Right key.
    • Click the [Outdent] and [Indent] buttons on the toolbar at the top of the tree grid.

attention

  • Models in the same hierarchy are displayed separately for each entity, so you cannot move between different entities. The order of entities can be customized in the profile.
  • For a move that changes the hierarchical structure, it can be moved only if the entity to be moved can be added to the destination parent entity.

Fold the tree

To collapse and expand the tree, do the following:

  1. Click the [▲] icon displayed to the left of the model icon to switch the expanded state of the child nodes of the tree individually.
  2. To change the expansion level of the entire tree at once, click the hierarchy level you want to expand from [Display]> [Editor]> [Level Filter] on the ribbon, similar to the tree diagram.

Note

  • When using [Level Filter] on the ribbon, click the tree grid first to switch the operation target to the tree grid.
